WINNER is set to make his highly
anticipated return to acting after a four-year hiatus, in an exclusive report on
July 1, 2026.
The talented idol and actor will join the cast of KBS 2TV’s new weekend drama,
‘Hakgyo Danyeo Watseumnida’ (literal title: ‘I Went to School’), which is
scheduled to air in the first half of 2027.
‘Hakgyo Danyeo Watseumnida’ tells the story of an overly meddlesome mother who
enrolls in university later in life to redesign her second chapter. Lee Jung Eun
will star as the main
character, Yoon Ok Hee, with Kang Seungyoon cast to play her son, showcasing
their mother-son chemistry. Other confirmed cast members include Yoo Jun Sang,
Choi Soo Young , and Jeon Sung Woo.
Kang Seungyoon began his acting career in 2011 with the MBC sitcom ‘High Kick!
Revenge of the Short Legged’ before his debut with WINNER. He continued to build
his filmography with notable roles in dramas such as tvN’s ‘Prison Playbook’,
MBC’s ‘Kairos’, and tvN’s ‘Voice 4’. His most recent appearance was in the 2022
KBS 2TV ‘Drama Special – Season of Panties’.
This upcoming role marks Kang Seungyoon’s return to the small screen after four
years and his first venture into a weekend drama, generating considerable
excitement among fans.
