LG to showcase AI technologies at Spark 2026

LG will showcase its latest artificial intelligence technologies and business applications at LG Spark 2026, running Monday through Sept. 17 at LG Sciencepark in Magok, western Seoul.

Launched in 2023, LG Spark combines technology events hosted across the group. This year’s program has been reorganized around five AI-focused events: the LG Tech Fair, LG AX Fair, AI Talk Concert, AI DevCon and Culture Week.

LG affiliates, global technology companies, developers and AI specialists will participate, with some programs also open to employees and residents.

The LG Tech Fair, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, will showcase 41 R&D technologies developed by group affiliates.

A new “One LG” section will feature 13 technologies spanning physical AI, AI data centers and automotive components. LG will demonstrate how its CLOiD home robot connects with AI-powered appliances to clean, manage indoor air and carry household items.

Data-center technologies will include semiconductor hybrid-bonding equipment and heat-dissipating adhesive film. Automotive exhibits will feature switchable glass film and hairpin motors.

The fair will also present 28 technologies in AI, biotechnology and clean technology. Among them are an advertising-targeting system that uses a Behavior Foundation Model to predict household activities, a hair-loss care material and technologies designed to improve battery performance and safety.

The LG AX Fair, running Sept. 10-11, will present 68 examples of AI transformation across product development, sales and marketing, production, quality control, strategy and planning.

LG Electronics will showcase a tool that identifies potential compliance issues, while LG Innotek will demonstrate a vision AI system for detecting workplace safety risks. LG Uplus will present technology designed to optimize the cost of tokens used by AI models.

The AI Talk Concert on Sept. 14-15 will focus on Exaone, LG’s proprietary AI model, including its industrial applications and development roadmap.

AI DevCon, scheduled for Sept. 15-16, will bring together developers from LG affiliates and global technology companies. Nvidia, Google, Amazon and Microsoft will participate in discussions on AI development and emerging technology trends.

LG will also hold its Promptathon Challenge 2026, in which 10 finalist teams will use Exaone to develop services addressing product-related problems. The group will consider commercializing the strongest projects.

The program will conclude with Culture Week from Sept. 15-17, featuring AI career mentoring and hands-on activities. As part of the Discovery Tour, LG researchers will meet 50 university students to discuss careers and research opportunities in AI.

Other programs will include an AI drawing challenge, short-film festival and photo booth, as well as a spaghetti bridge competition and talks examining art and the humanities in the AI era.

“LG Sciencepark brings together researchers working on AI and serves as a base for developing future technologies through Winning Tech and One LG,” said Jung Soo-heon, head of LG Sciencepark.

“Through LG Spark, we will work to create innovative products and services that improve customers’ lives.”
