Katseye voices support for Sophia, Manon during 'Tonight Show' appearance

Group appears as four ahead of third EP ‘Wild,’ set for release Friday

Katseye, a girl group formed between Hybe and Geffen Records, voiced support for members Sophia and Manon during an appearance on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that aired Thursday, a day before the release of its third EP, “Wild.”

Host Jimmy Fallon noted that the group looked different from its previous appearance in February, acknowledging that Sophia and Manon were taking breaks and praising the members for supporting them.

“We have nothing but so much love and support for Sophia and Manon, and it’s beautiful to see how the Eyekons (Katseye’s fandom name) give them so much support and also continue to support us as we’re here,” member Lara said.

Fallon introduced “Wild,” set for release Friday, and the documentary “Katseye: Wild Hearts,” which opened in theaters this week, while highlighting a year that included an American Music Award win, a Grammy nomination and a Coachella performance.

Describing the new EP, the members chose words including “maturity” and “growing up.” Lara, who wrote “Unloveu” for the album’s special edition, said writing a song for Katseye had been “my biggest goal for years.”

Daniela described the choreography for main track “Hootie Frutti” as “stamina killing,” while Lara joked that the tight formation for pre-release single “Animal” made it “a miracle” the members had not collided onstage.

The group also recalled meeting “Animal” co-writer Ed Sheeran at France’s NRJ Awards, where he told them, “I’ve got this song for you.”

Meanwhile, the girl group will kick off its “Wildworld” arena tour in September, with tickets selling out within 48 hours.
