STAYC’s Yoon cast as lead in short drama ‘Saranghaneun Jugeum’

Yoon of STAYC
is set to showcase a compelling new
acting transformation as she takes on the lead role in the short drama
‘Saranghaneun Jugeum’ (‘Love, Death’).

Her agency, High Up Entertainment, confirmed on July 1 that Yoon has been cast
as Yeon, the protagonist of the Lezhin Snack original short drama. ‘Saranghaneun
Jugeum’ is a mystery fantasy series adapted from writer Eon’s webtoon of the
same name.

The drama centers on three friends who decide to end their lives together, only
for a mysterious entity named ‘Death’ to appear and offer them a deal. Yoon’s
character, Yeon, is a girl addicted to death who attempts an extreme choice with
her friends but fails, leading to a swirl of complex emotions.

Yeon is depicted as a character who desires death yet possesses an unexpected
and endearing charm. Yoon is expected to highlight these contrasting qualities
through her bright energy and delicate emotional performance, expanding her
acting range. She previously demonstrated stable acting in the Coupang Play
series ‘Office Workers’ and its second season, playing intern Shim Ja Yoon.

The short drama ‘Saranghaneun Jugeum’ is scheduled to release all its episodes
on the Lezhin Snack platform on July 30. Meanwhile, Yoon’s group, STAYC,
recently concluded successful promotions for their sixth single, “2:LOVE,” and
is preparing for their 2026 fan concert tour ‘STAY CLOSER,’ set to visit seven
cities starting with Seoul on August 22-23.
