Couple slammed for blocking Namsan tunnel lane for wedding shoot

A soon-to-be-wed couple came under fire for staging a wedding shoot inside Namsan Tunnel 3, with people criticizing them for blocking a traffic lane to get the perfect shot.

Photos shared in a Threads post on Tuesday showed a woman in a white dress and a man in a black suit posing against the tunnel wall on Aug. 25, as a white vehicle sat in one of the tunnel’s two lanes with traffic cones set up behind it.

“I thought there was an accident because of the cones. But it turned out they had stopped the car there for a photo shoot,” the user wrote.

The user also alleged that the couple and their crew had blocked the lane without authorization, raising questions about whether they may have violated the Road Act and the Road Traffic Act.

Under the Road Act, occupying a public road without authorization from the relevant authorities is punishable by up to two years in prison or a fine of up to 20 million won ($14,595). The Road Traffic Act also prohibits obstructing traffic by standing in a roadway or placing objects on it.

It remains unclear whether the couple had gained permission for the photoshoot.

Others condemned the two as “selfish,” saying the photography studio behind the shoot should also be held accountable.

Another comment sarcastically remarked, “They seem perfect for each other.”
