APR targets W500b in Europe as Amazon, Sephora sales surge

Korean beauty company APR said Wednesday its European sales reached 228.9 billion won ($163.8 million) in the first half, accounting for about 17 percent of total revenue.

The company has expanded rapidly across both online and offline channels as it seeks to establish a major overseas market in Europe.

APR opened official Amazon stores in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain late last year. By June, sales in each market had increased more than eightfold on average from January, supported by Amazon’s Prime Day shopping event.

The company also began selling through Sephora in March, expanding its physical retail presence. First-half offline sales in Europe grew more than ninefold from a year earlier.

APR more than quintupled the number of stock-keeping units available in the region during the same period, broadening its product lineup and brand exposure.

Following the rapid growth, APR raised its full-year European sales target to 500 billion won.

The company plans to launch Amazon stores in additional countries and secure more offline retail partners across Europe.

“We will continue strengthening our competitiveness in Europe through a broader product portfolio and a diversified channel strategy,” an APR official said.
