Chinese home appliance maker Dreame Technology said Tuesday it will launch its next-generation premium robot vacuum cleaner, the Aqua20 Ultra Roller, in South Korea, featuring a combination of high-temperature steam and a hot-water roller mop.
The new model will make its Korean debut at the “Dreame in Seoul” event on Aug. 20 before going on sale, the company said.
Founded in 2017, Dreame Technology is a global premium technology brand offering smart home appliances, home care products and smart mobility solutions.
The Aqua20 Ultra Roller features what the company calls Korea’s first “Dual High-Temp Steam Mopping” system, combining steam heated to 180 degrees Celsius with a hot-water roller mop.
The system applies steam directly to the floor to loosen tough, dried-on dirt before the roller mop removes it. Fresh hot water is continuously supplied to the rotating roller, while a built-in metal blade scrapes away dirt during cleaning.
It can clean walls, corners and narrow spaces while using dual wide-angle cameras for real-time obstacle detection and avoidance. Its mobility has also been enhanced, allowing it to climb double thresholds up to 10 centimeters high and single thresholds up to 5 centimeters.
The robot detects pet hair, fine dust and liquid spills and adjusts its cleaning accordingly, with suction power of up to 40,000 pascals.
Once cleaning is complete and the robot returns to its station, the system automatically empties the dustbin, washes the mop with water heated to 100 C and dries it with hot air, reducing the need for manual maintenance.
“The product is designed to maintain floor cleanliness and hygiene in Korea’s widespread floor-seating residential environment while reducing concerns about damage to delicate flooring such as wood floors,” a Dreame official said.
“Dreame will continue to provide more convenient and smarter cleaning experiences based on differentiated technologies.”
